How To Be Present In The Moment…

If there’s one way to learn how to be present, it’s having a baby.

The New Tooth #3 and #4 are out, and #3 is particularly on a mission to get to full size. Combine that with a leap, and yesterday was pretty much a write-off in terms of what I wanted to get done.

Looking at it differently, it’s an amazing gift of learning to be more present. Your attempts to outwardly push on with the day’s to-do list just have to stop, and it becomes easier once you practise letting go of ‘should’ and just go with the flow.

It’s also a gift in the form of ‘Oi, rest.’ My first pregnancy was all looking at Instagram with all the pregnant workouts and thinking I could just push on and do it all. Er, no. This time I am really listening to my body the best I can – being present with it and letting it take the lead. Because stepping back a bit is always preferable to being in hospital!
